The System Prompt Trick That Changed My ChatGPT Workflow

9

I discovered something that made a huge difference in ChatGPT’s output quality: framing your requests with a system-level context at the start of each conversation.

Instead of jumping straight into your question, start with something like:
“You are an expert [specific role] with 15 years of experience in [specific field]. You give practical, tested advice based on real-world experience. You always provide specific examples rather than generic recommendations.”

Then ask your actual question. The difference in response quality is dramatic – especially for business strategy, technical architecture, and creative writing.

I’ve built a small library of these persona prompts for different tasks. Happy to share if there’s interest.
